Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to apply for the post of Special Police Officer (SPO).

  1. Residential Requirement
    The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  2. Age Limit
    The candidate must not be more than 65 years of age as on the date of publication of the advertisement.
  3. Language Requirement
    The applicant must be able to read, write and speak Odia language.
  4. Service Record
    Candidates must have an unblemished service record during their police service.

    The applicant must have served in the Odisha State Police in one of the following ranks:

  1. Performance Record
    Candidates must have Very Good / Good CCR or PAR for a continuous period of 60 months before superannuation.
  2. Government Quarter Condition

    Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement for re-employment on a contractual basis for one yea

The selection process includes multiple stages

    Candidates will undergo medical tests conducted by a medical board to determine fitness.
  3. Physical Test
    Candidates must complete:
    5 km walking test within 1 hour
    Failure to complete the distance will result in disqualification.

The remuneration will be provided as per Government of Odisha Finance Department Memo No. 24533/F dated 22 September 2022.
