Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant has invited online applications for the selection of trainees for stipend-based training programmes at Ispat General Hospital (IGH), Rourkela, under its “Training Programme for Employability and Skill Enhancement.” A total of 112 seats are available across 3 training programmes. Eligibility Criteria & Domicile Preferences

  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years as on the date of advertisement issue (31/08/2026).
  • Domicile Restriction: Open exclusively to residents of Sundargarh District and other Districts of Odisha State only.
  • Preference Zone: Preference will be given to candidates belonging to direct impact zones of RSP:
    • Bisra Block, Kuarmunda Block, Nuagaon Block, and Lathikata Block of Sundargarh District.
    • Rourkela Municipality & Rourkela Industrial Township area.
    • Resettlement Colonies and Model Steel Villages of RSP in Odisha.
  • Ineligibility: Candidates who have previously completed a similar training program at IGH are ineligible.
  • Job Disclaimer: Training is meant purely for skill enhancement of underprivileged candidates and does not confer any right to claim future employment in SAIL/RSP.

The period of training will be:

One Year

Selection will be subject to medical fitness as per the rules of the company.

Candidates who have already undergone a similar training programme at IGH will not be eligible for a second tenure.

Important: The training programme is only for the skill enhancement of underprivileged candidates and does not provide any claim for future employment in SAIL or Rourkela Steel Plant.


Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an Interview.

The venue, date and time of the interview will be communicated to eligible candidates through:

  • SMS on their registered mobile number
  • The official application website
  • Notice Board at Ispat General Hospital (IGH)

Eligible candidates must attend the interview with:

  • Downloaded/printed online application form
  • Filled Declaration Form
  • Filled Document Verification Form
  • Original certificates
  • Self-attested photocopies of required documents

The following documents are required:

  1. Two recent passport-size coloured photographs, self-attested.
  2. Educational certificates.
  3. Experience certificate, if applicable.
  4. Caste/Category Certificate.
  5. Aadhaar Card.
  6. Residential Certificate issued on or after 01 January 2023.

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria must apply online only through the IGH SAIL Rourkela application portal.

Steps to Apply Online
  1. Visit the official IGH SAIL Rourkela online application portal.
  2. Click on “Apply for Trainee” under the “What’s New” section.
  3. Select Online Application Form.
  4. Fill in all the required details carefully.
  5. Click on the Submit button.
  6. After successful submission, an Application ID will be generated.
  7. Note down the Application ID for future reference.
  8. After submission, candidates will not be able to change the information.
  9. Take a printout of the following forms:
    • Filled Application Form
    • Declaration Form
    • Document Verification Form
  10. Sign the required forms and paste one recent passport-size colour photograph at the appropriate place.

If a candidate forgets to take a printout after submitting the form, they can use the “View Filled Form” option and enter their Application ID.

Candidates should carefully follow all application instructions. Incomplete applications or applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria may be rejected.
